Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Switchboard Operator for the SESLHD Southern Sector based at Sutherland Hospital, Caringbah. You will manage day-to-day telecommunication services, including PABX/VoIP, Spectralink and paging, delivering courteous, efficient responses to patients, staff and callers.

The role requires you to work a 24/7 roster, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to operate in a busy call centre environment while providing exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Proven organisational skills with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Proven ability to operate a busy switchboard in a call centre.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to patients, employees and members of the public, ensuring a respectful and helpful response to all face-to-face and telephone enquiries, facilitating timely access to people and services and supporting a positive opinion of the health service.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day running and operation of telecommunication services incorporating PABX/VoIP/Spectralink telephone services, MIE (Message Integration Engine) and Paging services.
