Mater Group in Rockhampton is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our not-for-profit health network. The role delivers transactional purchasing activities, processes requests, supports inventory and financial work, and provides responsive service to internal stakeholders to maintain supply continuity.

You'll work within Mater's Procurement team, using ERP systems (e.g. D365), and adhere to policies, aiming for accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of purchasing or procurement processes within a structured environment.
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems (e.g. D365 or similar).
• Ability to accurately process transactional work with attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner in line with operational requirements.
• Support the delivery of purchasing services to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.
• Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Assist with resolving routine purchasing, supplier or system-related queries.
• Monitor and follow up outstanding orders, including backorders, to support service delivery.
• Support cost-effective purchasing practices by using approved suppliers, contracts and pricing arrangements.
• Assist with goods receipting, invoice matching and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with delegated authority limits and financial procedures.
• Identify and escalation discrepancies or issues impacting financial accuracy.
• Comply with Mater procurement policies, procedures and relevant standards.
• Ensure purchasing documentation and transactions meet audit and compliance requirements.
• Identify and report risks, including non-compliance or process issues.
• Maintain awareness of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to procurement activities.
• Work collaboratively within the purchasing team to achieve service and operational outcomes.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Provide responsive and professional communication to stakeholders regarding purchasing matters.
• Support knowledge sharing and consistent practices within the team environment.
• Take accountability for the accuracy, timeliness and quality of purchasing activities.
• Respond to enquiries and resolve routine issues within established procedures and guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance procurement processes and service delivery.
• Maintain proficiency in procurement systems (e.g. D365 or equivalent) and follow established procedures.
• Seek guidance when required and elevate more complex matters appropriately.
