Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a leader to manage the Ulladulla Leisure Centre's health and fitness facilities and programs. You will oversee daily operations, safety compliance, and program quality to deliver exceptional member experiences.

You will lead the fitness team, monitor equipment, and drive member engagement through targeted campaigns and inclusive services. This role requires NSW WWCC, First Aid, CPR, a fitness registration, and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent is required.
• Experience in health and fitness or leisure settings is essential.
• Current Fitness Australia/FITREC registration or ability to obtain it.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Class C Driver's Licence and NSW WWCC are required.
• Right to work in Australia must be demonstrated.

Job description

• 38 hours per week (as per roster, including weekends)
• Located at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre, Deering Street Ulladulla

About the Role

This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of health and fitness facilities and programs at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre. This includes:

• Ensure compliance with legislation, Council policies, and safety protocols
• Monitor and maintain gym equipment and facility standards
• Regularly evaluate and design, trial, and adapt fitness programs and services to maintain high-quality program delivery
• Lead, support, and supervise the health & fitness team, promoting a positive and professional workplace culture
• Implement marketing campaigns to attract and retain members and boost participation and visibility
• Uphold child safety standards and contribute to community wellbeing through inclusive and accessible services

About You

To be successful in the position, you are required to have:

• Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the Health and Fitness / Leisure industry
• Current Fitness Australia/FITREC registration or ability to obtain
• Current First Aid
• Current CPR
• Class C Driver's Licence
• A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Proof of right to work in Australia
