Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council in Ulladulla seeks a skilled tradesperson to diagnose, repair and maintain assets per maintenance schedules and safety standards. You will fabricate and service water/sewer installations, truck bodies, playgrounds, rails and ladders, while ensuring service agreements are met and parts are ordered within budget.

Applicants should have a trade certificate, White Card, 4+ years' experience, a Class C licence, and right to work in Australia. On-call and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification required with hands-on maintenance skills.
• Current NSW White Card (Construction Induction) required.
• Minimum 4 years of trade experience (incl. apprenticeship).
• Valid Class C driver's licence essential.
• Proof of Australian residency or right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, maintain and repair assets including steel water mains and steel/aluminium works, truck bodies and playground gear.
• Ensure compliance with Service Agreements and manage maintenance schedules.
• Plan major shutdowns, communicate with customers and order parts within budget.
• On-site measurement and design of plant/equipment to meet customer needs.

Job description

• PLUS additional $1,055.08 gross p.a. L1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance
• hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 9-day fortnight
• Located at the Ulladulla Works Depot, Deering Street Ulladulla

About the Role

This position provides multi skilled technical knowledge and experience to diagnose, repair and maintain Council's assets in accordance with maintenance schedules, customer's service level requirements and appropriate safety and quality standards. This includes:

• Fabricate, maintain and repair Council assets including steel water mains, steel and aluminium on water and sewerage installations, truck bodies, playground equipment, parks and street equipment, lids, rails and ladders.
• Ensure compliance with the Service Agreements both within council and with external customers, including the preparation, refinement and control of maintenance schedules.
• Execute significant planning on the job, planning of major shut downs, communication and negotiation with customers and asset owners and ordering parts and materials needed to complete the task within budget, efficiently and safely.
• Carry out the on-site measure and design of plant and equipment and specialised items for customer's requirements through research and development.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

• Trade certificate
• Current NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate (Whitecard)
• Minimum 4 years experience, inclusive of apprenticeship experience.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence
• Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
