Job summary

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking a Health & Fitness Centre Manager for Ulladulla Leisure Centre. You will oversee daily operations, ensure safety compliance, and lead a dynamic health & fitness team to deliver high-quality programs.

Responsibilities include monitoring facilities, designing adaptive fitness services, and driving member engagement through marketing campaigns. A strategic, community-focused leader with strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent.
• Experience in Health and Fitness / Leisure industry.
• Current Fitness Australia/FITREC registration or ability to obtain.
• Current First Aid.
• Current CPR.
• Class C Driver's Licence.
• NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Proof of right to work in Australia.

Job description

• 38 hours per week (as per roster, including weekends)
• Located at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre, Deering Street Ulladulla

About the Role

This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of health and fitness facilities and programs at the Ulladulla Leisure Centre. This includes:

• Ensure compliance with legislation, Council policies, and safety protocols
• Monitor and maintain gym equipment and facility standards
• Regularly evaluate and design, trial, and adapt fitness programs and services to maintain high-quality program delivery
• Lead, support, and supervise the health & fitness team, promoting a positive and professional workplace culture
• Implement marketing campaigns to attract and retain members and boost participation and visibility
• Uphold child safety standards and contribute to community wellbeing through inclusive and accessible services

About You

To be successful in the position, you are required to have:

• Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in the Health and Fitness / Leisure industry
• Current Fitness Australia/FITREC registration or ability to obtain
• Current First Aid
• Current CPR
• Class C Driver's Licence
• A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Proof of right to work in Australia
