Job summary

The City of Whittlesea is seeking an influential Coordinator Healthy Communities to lead a diverse portfolio and guide health equity initiatives across the Council. You will manage a team of six Community Strengthening Officers, influence disability planning, inclusion and wellbeing, and partner with government, health and community sectors to drive system change.

This full-time, hybrid role offers a Band 7 remuneration package of $110,873 plus super and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams to deliver strategic and prevention-focused outcomes.
• Ability to translate strategy into practical, measurable actions.
• Strong collaboration with diverse organisations across health, government and community sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of six Community Strengthening Officers.
• Drive Council’s 2040 priorities and health, wellbeing, equity plans.
• Provide specialist advice on social determinants of health and prevention.
• Strengthen local service systems and coordination for integrated responses.
• Build partnerships across government, health and community sectors.
• Champion good governance and legislative compliance across disability, gender equality and public health.
