Job summary

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a strategic leader for Healthy Communities to guide disability, gender equity, prevention of violence against women, homelessness and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. You will lead a six-person team, influence planning across the Integrated Planning Framework and champion community health equity initiatives.

• Experience leading a diverse team and delivering strategic outcomes.
• Ability to influence across a Council-wide system and sectors.
• Proven capability to translate strategy into practical programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of six, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
• Drive Council’s 2040 priorities and lead health, wellbeing and disability plans.
• Provide specialist advice across Council on social determinants of health and systems change.
• Strengthen local service systems by improving coordination and response.
• Build partnerships across government, health, community and service sectors.
• Champion governance and legislative practice in disability, gender equality, and public health.
