Job summary

The University of Sydney Library invites applications for a continuing, full-time leadership role focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives. You will lead the strategy across the Library, coordinating with senior leaders and stakeholders, and champion culturally safe practices throughout the organisation.

You will build the staff community, drive reporting and evaluation, and translate strategy into tangible outcomes for staff, students and communities.

Qualifications

• Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
• Experience leading initiatives that support culturally safe practices.
• Experience providing specialist advice and influencing strategic priorities across complex environments.
• Experience leading, developing and supporting teams, including coaching and performance development.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, communities and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Library's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategies, plans and priorities.
• Coordinate cross-library collaboration and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and communities.
• Provide expert advice to strengthen cultural capability and culturally safe workplaces across the Library.
• Foster an engaged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff community within the Library.
• Lead reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement activities to support strategic outcomes.
