Job summary

Toll Group seeks a strategic Head of Fixed Wing Engineering to lead fixed wing engineering operations, airworthiness and maintenance performance across our Australian fleet. You will ensure regulatory compliance, safety and technical excellence in a pivotal leadership role.

Reporting to the Vice President of Fixed Wing, you will direct engineering capability, manage resources and mentor teams across multiple sites, collaborating with regulators and stakeholders to deliver reliable aviation

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma of Aviation Maintenance Management (Avionics or Mechanical) or equivalent qualifications suitable for an Accountable Manager role.
• Significant leadership experience within an aviation engineering or maintenance environment.
• Previous engineering experience supporting aircraft EMS operations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian civil aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information for varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leading all fixed wing engineering, maintenance and fleet management activities.
• Ensuring ongoing airworthiness, regulatory compliance and operational readiness across the fleet.
• Providing strategic direction for engineering capability, systems and processes.
• Managing engineering resources, facilities, tooling, equipment and maintenance infrastructure.
• Ensuring appropriately trained, qualified and competent personnel are available across engineering functions.
• Driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency and operational performance.
• Overseeing engineering governance, risk management and compliance with CASA regulations and applicable standards.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, regulators and service providers.
• Championing a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Leading, mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams across multiple locations.
