Job summary

ACT Government — Infrastructure Canberra is seeking a Head of Property Services and Operations to lead and transform property services and operations across the ACT. The role focuses on building a safe, inclusive culture and a financially sustainable insourced facilities management model that supports strategic infrastructure goals.

The position reports to the Executive Group Manager and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with government and industry to deliver

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with 10+ years' relevant experience.
• Architecture degree with 10+ years' relevant experience.
• Project management diploma/degree with 10+ years' experience or CPPD/CPPE certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated facilities management and service growth across the ACT property portfolio.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and financially sustainable workplace culture.
• Champion high standards of service delivery and customer-focused operations.
• Provide strategic advice on insourcing opportunities and property services.
• Drive operational efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
• Advise senior leaders and government on property operations within broader industry context.
• Build strong partnerships with government and industry stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment across technical, commercial, legal, and environmental aspects of infrastructure delivery.

Education

Engineering: A four-year degree (or higher) accredited by Engineers Australia or Professionals Australia, plus a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience.

Architecture: A three-year degree (or higher) accredited by a State or Territory architecture authority, plus a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience.

Project Management: a diploma or degree in project management with 10+ years' experience, or CPPD/CPPE by AIPM
