Job summary

Brisbane City Council is seeking a senior leader to head the City Licences and Permits branch, located at Brisbane Square. You will lead, manage and mentor a technically skilled team delivering environmental permit assessments in a dynamic regulatory environment.

The role focuses on achieving sound customer outcomes, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency while supporting Council’s vision.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of regulatory and legislative frameworks for environmental permit assessments.
• Experience in leading a multidisciplinary team and coaching for service standards.
• Experience delivering high-quality business analysis documents to support operations.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills for complex regulatory issues.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse technical disciplines.
