Job summary

VMG Digital AU Pty Ltd, a premier global creative production and digital agency, seeks a Director of Creative Technology & AI to lead technology strategy and a dedicated AI team. You will own the technology roadmap, design multi-stage creative workflows, and steer client-facing AI solutions in collaboration with executive leadership.

You will bridge creative production, enterprise goals, and AI engineering, driving innovation, governance, and measurable performance across campaigns and platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Creative Technology, Business Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent senior industry experience).
• 6+ years of progressive experience leading technology, AI, or digital workflow initiatives, ideally within an agency, media, or tech-enabled production environment.
• Proven track record of managing and mentoring technical teams (AI developers, data specialists, software engineers).
• Deep expertise in generative AI tools (LLMs, image/video generation models, multi-agent frameworks) and automated pipeline design.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen with the ability to define ROI, scope technical budgets, and articulate technical value to executive stakeholders and clients.
• Outstanding communication, change management, and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and direct the agency-wide AI and creative technology roadmap, identifying commercial opportunities to drive revenue growth, improve client margin, and streamline operational efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and direct a multidisciplinary team of AI specialists, prompt engineers, and workflow developers, establishing engineering standards, project milestones, and delivery cadences.
• Design and oversee the deployment of multi-stage AI systems, automated creative briefing tools, intelligent ad performance analytics, and dynamic content generation pipelines.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, Creative Directors, Media Strategists, and enterprise clients to translate high-level business goals into scalable software and automation solutions.
• Direct vendor evaluation, API integrations, data security, and ethical AI governance across all production workflows and client deliverables.
• Define testing protocols, user acceptance criteria (UAT), and continuous feedback loops to ensure production outputs meet brand and performance benchmarks.
