Job summary

Nine in Sydney seeks a Technology Director for the Consumer Platform to own the technical vision and drive the transformation program. You will lead a 50-75+ engineer organization across onshore, offshore and vendor teams, delivering a unified Identity, Accounts, Subscriptions, Billing, and MarTech platform.

This role requires exceptional leadership, budget stewardship, and the ability to partner with Product, executives and the Board to align strategy with business goals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology leadership in consumer-focused environments.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across onshore, offshore, and vendor partners.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical strategies and roadmaps.
• Experience evaluating and managing enterprise technology partners.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the long-term technical vision for the Consumer Platform.
• Lead architectural direction and vendor management for Identity, Subscription, Billing.
• Advise on legacy modernization and risk management.
• Accelerate platform maturity with modern engineering practices and AI.
• Direct engineering organization across core domains.
• Own the delivery roadmap and ensure major launches.
• Oversee multi-year budgets and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with Product leadership and report to executive leadership and Board.
• Manage enterprise relationships with software vendors and partners.
