Job summary

Nine is seeking a Director of Technology, Consumer Platform, in Australia to own the technical vision, strategy, and execution for a critical transformation program. You will lead 50-75+ engineers across onshore, offshore, and vendor teams, delivering a unified foundation for Identity, MarTech, Subscriptions, Billing, and Customer Support.

The role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a track record of delivering complex digital platforms in consumer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of technology leadership experience delivering large-scale digital transformations.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering organisations across onshore and offshore teams.
• Ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and execution plans.
• Proven budget governance and multi-million-dollar allocations.
• Experience with media, streaming, or publishing environments is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the long-term technical vision for the Consumer Platform.
• Lead architecture, vendor management, and modern consolidated stacks.
• Oversee multi-year enterprise budget and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with Product leadership and report progress to executives and the Board.
• Drive risk management, security, and business continuity during transformation.
