Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. at Grand Mercure Basildene Manor in Margaret River, WA, is seeking an experienced Head Gardener to lead our Maintenance/Grounds team and oversee daily gardening and grounds upkeep.

This hands-on role requires practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting and equipment maintenance, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

About The Role

The Head Gardener is responsible for the efficient operation of the Maintenance/Grounds department. This includes maintaining all resort rooms and amenities, at all times complying with OH&S Policies & Procedures. Other duties include but are not limited to:

• Oversee daily gardening and grounds maintenance activities
• Maintaining all resort equipment in working condition
• Fostering positive relationships with guests and colleagues
• Reporting of unsafe practices, incidents or accidents

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in landscape maintenance, with supervisory experience is desirable
• Ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and appliance repairs
• Ability to use and care for tools and equipment
• Desire to provide an exceptional customer experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and respond to emergency situations
