Job summary

The Commons in NSW is seeking a highly skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations across the on-site café, restaurant and bar at Martin Place. You will partner with the Group Executive Chef to deliver the culinary vision and ensure exceptional quality.

With 5+ years in senior kitchens and a passion for creativity, you’ll drive high-volume production, cost control, and staff development while upholding WHS standards and a culture of community.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a qualified chef with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead kitchen teams and maintain high morale.
• Strong skills in food costing, labour management and inventory control.
• Experience in high-volume production and event catering.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of NSW kitchen operations.
• Lead menu development and seasonal updates with the Group Executive Chef.
• Manage costs, labour, stock, and reporting for the kitchen.
• Oversee day and night service, cafe prep, and production.
• Ensure WHS standards and safe work practices across the team.
• Coordinate stock ordering and supply to NSW CBD sites.
