Job summary

THE SWAN VALLEY GROUP PTY LTD is seeking a skilled Chef to join its team in Caversham, WA. You will prepare and cook high-quality meals, assist with menu planning, and ensure food safety standards are maintained.

This full-time, permanent role offers AU$79,500–AU$82,000 plus superannuation, with a professional team and opportunities to contribute culinary skills within a quality-driven kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a similar chef role.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and menu planning.
• Understanding of food safety and kitchen health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations.
• Create new menu items and recipes in consultation with manager/owner.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
• Preparing and cooking various food items.
• Prepare daily production list.
• Estimating food costs, ordering food supplies, receiving, and checking stock to ensure suitability for use.
• Guiding and giving directions to other kitchen staff.
• Ensure all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet the business specifications and commitment to quality.
• Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the working period.
• Verify other staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly.
• Ensuring proper sanitization of working stations, storage area, and entire kitchen area.
• Organize kitchen meetings to discuss problems and provide solutions.
• Managing staff level in the kitchen area.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
