The Big Group seeks a Head Chef to lead the kitchens at a Cultural Institute in Parramatta, overseeing both event catering and the Academy program. You will translate diverse catering needs into organized production plans, guiding teams to deliver high-quality, consistent food and service.

You will mentor Sous Chefs, collaborate with staffing and operations teams, and embed food safety standards across all services, building capability and a positive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of senior kitchen teams in catering or events.
• Strong ability to plan for intimate functions and large events.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, allergen management and HACCP practices.
• Experience managing permanent and casual staff across varying service demands.

Responsabilités

• Lead kitchen operations across Event Spaces and Academy with consistent quality and presentation.
• Oversee catering for Academy students and events, ensuring timelines and standards.
• Mentor and develop Sous Chefs and broader kitchen team, fostering growth.
• Support recruitment and staff rostering to meet service needs and budgets.
• Implement and monitor food safety procedures, temperature controls and waste management.
• Collaborate with event planning, front of house and operations teams to exceed client expectations.
