Job summary

Panthers Port Macquarie is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen, drive quality and consistency, and inspire fresh energy in our food offering. You will own the day-to-day operation, guiding a diverse team and balancing creativity with the realities of a busy hospitality venue.

You’ll work closely with management to continually improve menus, systems and service, building a kitchen culture centered on teamwork, accountability and pride.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior kitchen leadership role such as Head Chef or Executive Chef.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing kitchen teams.
• Strong track record in high-volume hospitality, club, hotel or function settings.
• Outstanding food costing, stock control and rostering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food and service.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations across restaurant, bistro, functions and events.
• Drive menu development with commercially viable ideas for members and guests.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Manage food costs, stock control, ordering, wastage and productivity.
• Coordinate kitchen rosters and workforce requirements for efficient service.
• Uphold top food safety, hygiene and WHS compliance.
• Build a positive, professional kitchen culture and coach team members.
• Collaborate with management and front-of-house for a seamless guest experience.
