Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Head Chef.
• Premium à la carte experience from a fine dining restaurant.
• Ideally experience in high end wedding and events.
• Very strong and clear communicator across all levels.
• Strong passionate leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• A strong understanding of safe food handling procedures.
• Self‑motivated, professional, with a strong attention to detail.
• Thrives working as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• A genuine passion for great food and produce.
• Well‑presented and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on kitchen operations and set an example.
• Develop menus in consultation with the Owner.
• Proactively manage food and wages costs and KPIs as directed by management.
• Oversee inventory, procurement, and cost control.
• Foster team growth and development of chefs.
• Collaborate with a small kitchen team.
• Maintain a passion for seasonal, local produce.
• Liaise with Northern Rivers suppliers for quality ingredients.
• Communicate clearly and manage time efficiently.
• Work a rotating roster.
• Ensure compliance with Australia visa requirements.
