Job summary

Employer Sponsored Jobs is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead a busy kitchen within a care community in Victoria, Australia. You will guide a talented team, craft innovative menus, and play a key role in enhancing residents' daily dining experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent required.
• Experience leading and managing a kitchen team.
• Strong menu planning and food preparation skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead all day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervise, mentor and develop the kitchen team.
• Create seasonal and creative menus.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious and appealing for residents.
• Ensure dietary requirements are accurately accommodated.
• Maintain food quality and presentation standards.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene procedures are followed.
• Manage food purchasing, stock rotation and inventory.
• Control kitchen costs and work within allocated budgets.
• Maintain accurate kitchen and food safety records.
• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organised and compliant.
• Deliver a positive and enjoyable dining experience for residents.
