Job summary

QT Canberra, part of EVT Limited, is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to join our hotel operations. You’ll carry out routine maintenance including plumbing, electrical work and HVAC checks, inspect guest rooms and public areas, and respond to maintenance requests and emergencies.

The role requires experience in maintenance, strong problem-solving, and availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance, repair or a related field, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, including plumbing repairs, electrical work and HVAC system checks
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities to identify and address maintenance needs
• Repair or replace damaged furniture, fixtures and equipment, and paint and touch up surfaces
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, such as leaks, power outages and heating or cooling problems
• Complete regular safety inspections, report hazards and assist with fire alarm system testing and maintenance
• Maintain an organised inventory of maintenance supplies and order stock as needed
