Job summary

Betashares in Sydney seeks a hands-on Full-Stack Tech Lead to steer technical direction while remaining deeply involved in design, development and delivery of our superannuation and retirement products. You will collaborate with engineers, design, product, and the wider Product Engineering function to shape architectures across Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across the superannuation and retirement product portfolio while remaining directly accountable for hands-on contribution to design, coding and delivery.
• Contribute to software delivery by writing production code, shaping solution design, reviewing code and troubleshooting issues.
• Design, build and ship full-stack solutions across Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL and PostgreSQL, owning features from concept to production.
• Translate customer, regulatory and business needs into pragmatic technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Lead technical design discussions and resolve engineering problems across product journeys in accumulation, insurance, retirement and income.
• Promote strong engineering practices: design, testing, observability, security and reliability.
• Explore AI-assisted engineering opportunities to improve productivity and delivery while maintaining standards.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance and constructive feedback.
• Identify and manage technical debt and architectural risks to improve scalability.
