Job summary

Norwest Recruitment Pty Ltd is assisting an established Australian engineering business in Blacktown to recruit an Accounts Payable Officer. You will own the full AP process, from invoice capture and three-way matching to payment runs and reconciliations, collaborating with the Financial Controller and project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in engineering/construction or project-based environments.
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, PO matching and approval workflows.
• Excellent communication and proactive problem-solving approaches.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices with correct approvals and cost allocations.
• Perform three-way matching of POs, receipts, and invoices.
• Manage AP inbox and respond to supplier/internal queries.
• Prepare weekly/monthly payment runs (EFT and manual payments).
• Maintain supplier accounts and AP reconciliations.
• Investigate outstanding/invoice disputes with stakeholders.
• Assist with month-end accruals, journals and reporting.
• Support audits and compliance with policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes.
