Job summary

YHA Australia is seeking a proactive Guest Services All-Rounder for the Apollo Bay Eco property. You will work across Reception, Housekeeping, Guest Activities/Events and Food and Beverage, gaining exposure to all operational aspects of our hospitality property.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service experience, excellent communication, and Flexibility for a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. On-site living option may be available.

• Experience in customer service, hospitality, or similar roles.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and reservations/POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Reception: greet guests and manage check-in/out accurately.
• Guest Activities: plan and promote engaging activities.
• Housekeeping: maintain rooms to high standards and handle maintenance issues.
• Food & Beverage: assist with food hygiene and service, including barista duties.
• Health & Safety: follow YHA policies to keep guests and staff safe.

YHA Apollo Bay Eco is the perfect location for those doing a road trip along the famous Great Ocean Road or those looking to immerse themselves in the stunning location on the traditional lands of the Gadubanud People. This property offers guests the opportunity to explore this diverse region that plays host to rugged coastline and a lush green rainforest. Kayaking with seals, whale watching, swim, surf, see the 12 Apostles, hike and chase waterfalls in the Otways, are just some of the attractions and experiences on offer in the region. This boutique Eco property has 24 rooms (17 private rooms)

About the role:We are on the search for a proactive and passionate hospitality allrounder to join our team. The Guest Services All-Rounder is the ultimate role that allows you to gain exposure to all operational aspects of our amazing properties and sets you up for a career in Hospitality and Tourism

This is a unique position that allows you to work across Reception, Housekeeping, Guest Activities/Events and Food and Beverage. With development opportunities locally and across Australia, this role is the perfect next step for someone looking to build the foundation of a career in general or property management

This is a part time position with a minimum of 15 hours per week, and you must be 18 years or older. Potential to live onsite is also an option.Responsibilities include:

• Reception- Welcoming guests to the property and ensuring their check in process is seamless whilst ensuring all accounts and documentation is recorded accurately
• Guest Activities- Create, promote and plan guest activities including social events and activities to ensure our guests stay engaged and entertained
• Housekeeping- Ensure the property and guest rooms are maintained to the highest standards. This includes ensuring laundry and managing any maintenance or safety issues are managed efficiently
• Food & Beverage- Maintaining food hygiene and compliance remains of the highest standards. Preparation and service of food and beverages including coffee making / barista duties
• Health & Safety- Ensure adherence to all YHA Policies and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others

About you:

• You will need to have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy providing guests with a fun and engaging service
• Ideally you'll have experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role
• You'll need to have good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Experience using Microsoft office and ideally experience in reservations/POS or bookings systems
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays (Occasional overnight stays may be required)
• RSA certification is essential and First Aid certificate is desirable
• Knowledge of the local area and travel/tourism industry (desired)
