Job summary

Ventia and the Australian Defence Force invite applications for a Guest Services Agent to support on-base accommodation for Defence personnel at RAAF Tindal, Katherine, NT. You will welcome guests, manage bookings, and ensure high standards of service and safety.

The role requires 1+ year in hospitality or accommodation, a related qualification is advantageous, and proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping. Candidates must be eligible for Defence security clearance and Australian citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead room booking and allocation for personnel posted or transiting through the base.
• Track and manage keys (arrival, departure, storage).
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and respond to service requests.
• Keep records: occupancy stats, rank-room reports, logbooks, inventory and condition checks.
• Liaise with leadership to align accommodation with rank and availability.
• Perform quality room inspections to ensure functionality and welcoming.
• Welcome deliveries, manage IT programs related to bookings, and assist visitors and trades.

Job description

In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is currently seeking an experienced Guest Services Agent to support on-base accommodation services for Defence personnel at RAAF Tindal in Katherine, NT.

About The Role

As a Guest Service Agent, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for guests, delivering a friendly and professional experience from arrival to departure while responding to enquiries, managing bookings, check-ins/outs, maintaining records, coordinating inspections, and delivering excellent customer service and ensuring accommodation standards are met.

Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Lead the charge in room booking and allocation for personnel posted or transiting through the base
• Track and manage keys like a vault master (arrival, departure, and safe storage)
• Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and respond to service requests
• Keep records sharp: occupancy stats, rank-room reports, logbooks, inventory and condition checks
• Liaise with leadership to align accommodation with rank and availability
• Perform quality room inspections to ensure everything is functional and welcoming
• Welcome deliveries, manage IT programs related to bookings, and assist visitors and trades

About You

• 1+ years’ experience in hospitality or accommodation
• A diploma or degree in hospitality management or a related field is advantageous
• Proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and is willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police check.
