Job summary

Travel + Leisure Co. in Ballarat is seeking a Guest Service Generalist to support reception, guest services and onsite sales presentations. You will welcome guests, manage inquiries and bookings, and contribute to a memorable stay.

The role involves light café duties, coffee preparation and assisting with tours, with opportunities across our global hospitality network.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel reception, guest services or customer service.
• Proactive, target-driven approach without compromising guest experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
• Current Food Safety certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greet Owners and Guests and assist throughout their stay.
• Manage check-ins, check-outs, reservations and guest enquiries.
• Build rapport and invite guests to onsite sales presentations.
• Explain the presentation experience and secure bookings.
• Achieve presentation booking targets while maintaining guest experience.
• Handle telephone and email enquiries.
• Provide local recommendations and assist with tours and bookings.
• Prepare barista-style coffee and heat/serve light food.
• Assist with luggage and other guest requests.
• Handle cash, perform payment reconciliation and night-audit duties.

How You'll Shine

This varied role combines front office and guest service responsibilities with engaging eligible guests and booking them into onsite sales presentations. You'll also assist with light café-style duties.

• Welcome Owners and Guests and assist throughout their stay
• Manage check-ins, check-outs, reservations and guest enquiries
• Build rapport with guests and identify opportunities to invite them to an onsite sales presentation
• Clearly explain the presentation experience and secure guest bookings
• Work towards presentation booking targets while maintaining a positive guest experience
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries
• Share local recommendations and assist with tours and bookings
• Prepare barista-style coffee and heat and serve a small selection of food
• Assist with luggage and other guest requests
• Complete cash handling, payment reconciliation and night-audit duties

What You'll Bring

• Experience in hotel reception, guest services, customer service or a sales-focused environment
• A natural ability to build rapport and confidently start conversations
• A proactive, target-driven approach without compromising the guest experience
• Confidence preparing coffee and completing simple food service duties
• A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
• A current Food Safety certificate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skillsA positive, energetic and reliable attitude
• Professional presentation and grooming
• Availability across a seven-day roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends and school holidays
• A current driver's licence is preferred
