Job summary

SPS Property Services Group seeks an Operations Manager to lead and grow the Sydney plumbing and roofing team. You will take ownership of day-to-day operations, work closely with the current manager, and implement system improvements to deliver excellent client service.

You will develop staff, manage budgets and margins, and drive ongoing professional growth as the business scales, with a clear handover and support period.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Operations Manager or similar.
• Strong organisation and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Confident with margins, budgets and targets.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop and build the team.
• Improve systems and operations.
• Conduct staff reviews and check-ins.
• Oversee inventory management.
• Lead weekly and monthly meetings.
• Approve staff weekly pay in collaboration with accounts.
• Review quotes, work orders and invoices with staff and tradespeople.
• Provide after-hours support when needed.
• Own financial weekly/monthly reporting and KPI tracking.
• Ensure targets for revenue, gross margin and budgets are met.
• Monitor job profitability and labour costs.
• Maintain workplace health and safety standards.
