Job summary

Byrnecut Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Group Payroll Manager to lead and develop the payroll team, delivering a reliable, compliant payroll service across the Group. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end payroll delivery and collaborate with stakeholders to build a responsive payroll function.

The role focuses on governance, system improvements, data quality, and HRIS/ERP integration, while ensuring audit readiness and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading payroll teams in a complex environment.
• Strong Australian payroll knowledge: Awards, Enterprise Agreements, PAYG, STP and superannuation.
• Experience leading payroll system upgrades, integrations, testing, process improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Sound understanding of payroll governance, controls and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all business levels.
• Qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with at least five years of payroll management experience.
• Global mobility and international payroll processing experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a capable, engaged payroll team.
• Oversee accurate, timely, secure and compliant end to end payroll delivery across the Group.
• Develop and deliver a payroll improvement roadmap across systems, data quality, automation, reporting and ERP integration.
• Strengthen payroll governance, internal controls, compliance assurance, risk management and audit readiness.
• Partner with People, Finance, IT, Operations and site teams to deliver sustainable improvements.
• Provide clear payroll insights, advice and support to employees and leaders across the business.
• Create a service focused payroll function built on collaboration, clear communication and continuous improvement.
