Job summary

SunPork Group is seeking an experienced Group Payroll & Compliance Manager to lead payroll delivery, governance and compliance across its multi-site Australian workforce. Reporting to the CFO, this senior role oversees payroll governance, modern awards, enterprise agreements, Fair Work compliance and payroll risk.

The successful candidate will manage a payroll team, drive system improvements, and partner with Finance, HR, and operations to ensure accurate, timely payroll and strong governance

Qualifications

• Experience leading payroll teams.
• 5–10 years payroll experience.
• Experience in complex multi-site Australian environment.
• Strong knowledge of modern awards and Australian payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll function across permanent, casual, seasonal and contractor workforce.
• Manage complex payroll arrangements including shifts, overtime, penalties, allowances, annualised wages and on-call arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements, PAYG, STP, superannuation and state payroll tax requirements.
• Lead payroll governance, risk management and underpayment prevention strategies.
• Implement payroll audits, reconciliations, exception reporting and compliance controls.
• Oversee remediation activities where payroll discrepancies are identified.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll and compliance matters.
• Lead, coach and develop the payroll team.
• Partner with Finance, HR and Operational leaders.
• Drive payroll system improvements and process efficiencies.
