Job summary

Arete Executive seeks a Group IT Business Partner to own the technology agenda across a growing Australian industrial Group. You will stabilise the environment, close cybersecurity gaps, and drive the migration to Microsoft 365 and cloud while rationalising core ERP and operational technology across sites.

You'll partner with General Managers and the Managing Director, shaping a roadmap that supports manufacturing operations for the next decade.

About the opportunity

As Group IT Business Partner, you'll be the sole internal technology owner across the Group. This a genuinely standalone role with real scope and real accountability. Starting with an honest assessment of where things stand today, you'll stabilise the environment, close critical cybersecurity gaps, and establish the baseline that's been missing. From there, you'll lead the migration from a legacy on-premises environment to Microsoft 365 and cloud, rationalise a patchwork of business systems built up over time, and optimise the Group's core ERP. You'll partner directly with General Managers and the Managing Director, translating operational priorities into practical technology outcomes and building a roadmap that future proofs the business for a decade to come. The role also spans operational technology including workshop and manufacturing environments, engineering workstations, and the unique controls those settings require. Hands-on, end-to-end, and genuinely yours to shape. This is a rare opportunity to build something that lasts.

About you

You're a skilled IT generalist who is equally comfortable resolving a support issue on the floor and presenting a technology roadmap to the leadership team. With 5+ years across infrastructure, systems administration, and IT business partnering, you bring solid Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and cloud migration experience alongside cybersecurity knowledge and a proven track record managing vendors and managed service providers responsibly. You will have ERP experience, ideally on a comparable platform to Epicor, you will understand how manufacturing or operational businesses work, and you know how to earn the trust of people who care about uptime, not IT jargon. Critically, you're resilient, commercially minded, and patient enough to understand a business before improving it, and bringing people with you through change rather than pushing past them.
