Xceltium is seeking a Head of Business Technology Delivery in Sydney. The role will own priority technology initiatives across ERP, POS, WMS and CRM, including ecommerce, digital platforms, integrations and reporting.
You’ll lead and develop a seven-person team and shape delivery priorities, capability and ways of working. You’ll work across internal operations and customer-facing technology, coordinating with engineering, data and architecture specialists as needed, with hybrid office/home
Our client is a large Australian consumer organisation looking for a Head of Business Technology Delivery to take ownership of how priority technology initiatives are shaped and delivered across the business.
You’ll lead a seven-person team across Business Analysis, digital delivery and reporting, with responsibility for the team’s priorities, capability and delivery.
The organisation has recently undergone a change in ownership and is resetting around a smaller, more focused portfolio of initiatives. The expectation is simple: be clear about what matters and deliver those priorities properly.
Your remit will span core enterprise platforms including ERP, POS, WMS and CRM, alongside ecommerce, digital platforms, integrations and reporting.
You’ll own the team’s delivery backlog, deciding how work is prioritised, scoped and sequenced against business needs and available capacity.
You’ll also lead and develop three enterprise Business Analysts, two digital BAs and two reporting specialists, building capability and creating clear accountability across the team.
Alongside leading the team, you’ll continue to improve its capability, delivery practices and ways of working.
A strong Business Analysis foundation is important because you’ll regularly work with stakeholders where the problem isn’t clearly defined.
You’ll need to understand how a process works, identify where it can improve and determine what technology or process change will solve the problem.
From there, you’ll take priority initiatives through delivery. Depending on the work, that could involve scoping, requirements, planning, stakeholder and vendor coordination, testing, configuration or reporting.
You’ll work across internal business operations and customer-facing technology, partnering with Digital and bringing in engineering, data and architecture specialists where deeper technical expertise is required.
You’ll also make sure changes are ready to operate, with testing, documentation, training, handover and support considered throughout delivery.
The broader environment includes Dynamics 365, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform. You’ll also look at how AI and automation can improve BA productivity, delivery practices and broader business processes.
You’ll bring senior technology delivery experience with a strong grounding in Business Analysis.
You’ll be comfortable working through ambiguity, drawing the right information from stakeholders and moving beyond requirements gathering to determine how a business problem should actually be solved.
You’ll also have experience leading people and delivering change across enterprise applications, digital platforms or reporting environments.
You’ll already be curious and actively experimenting with AI, with an understanding of how it can improve BA productivity and identify opportunities for automation.
Exposure to ERP, POS, WMS, ecommerce or other core business platforms will be highly relevant. Retail experience would translate particularly well, although we’re equally interested in people from other complex consumer-facing environments.
You don’t need to be the Architect or deepest technical specialist in the room. You do need enough technology understanding to recognise what’s possible, challenge constructively and work effectively with the specialists responsible for designing and building solutions.
You may already be operating at Head of Technology Delivery level. Alternatively, you could be a strong BA Manager or Practice Lead who has broadened into technology delivery and is ready to take on greater ownership.
You’ll have broad exposure across the technology supporting stores, supply chain, ecommerce, employees and customers, rather than being confined to one platform or delivery discipline.
You’ll report to the CTO, lead a multidisciplinary team and have the scope to improve how business-facing technology delivery operates as the organisation focuses on a clearer set of priorities.
The role is based near Homebush with hybrid working consisting of Monday to Thursday in the office and the option to work from home on Fridays.
