Job summary

Global Supermarket Rockhampton is seeking an experienced Retail Manager (General) to oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, control inventory, and implement retail strategies to drive sales. You will lead purchasing, pricing, merchandising and customer service initiatives to deliver profitable outcomes.

The role requires a Diploma or higher in Retail Management and at least one year in supermarket management, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• A relevant Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business Management, or a related discipline, and/or substantial relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in managing retail operations, staff supervision and supplier relationships.
• Sound knowledge of retail pricing, merchandising, purchasing and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supermarket day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
• Lead purchasing, stock levels, and supplier coordination for Indian, Asian and international products.
• Develop pricing, promotions, and merchandising to increase sales and profitability.
• Monitor inventory, sales trends and implement stock control procedures to minimise losses.
• Recruit, train, supervise and manage staff including rosters and performance.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS and consumer protection requirements.
• Report on store performance and opportunities for improvement.
