Job summary
Vena Energy in Australia seeks an Engineer, Grid Connection to support grid connection activities across project lifecycle, from development to commissioning and operations. You will collaborate with project teams, NSPs, AEMO and EPCs to deliver robust grid connection outcomes.
Key responsibilities include power system studies, grid connection strategies, modelling with PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory, and due diligence on inverter and generation technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
- 2–5 years' experience in power systems, grid connection or renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of Australian grid connection processes and NER Chapter 5/Schedule 5.2 requirements.
- Experience with power system modelling tools such as PSS/E, PowerFactory; PSCAD advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Support identification and assessment of BESS, solar and wind opportunities via power system studies.
- Contribute to grid connection strategies across full lifecycle from development to operations.
- Perform and support power system modelling and simulations using PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory.
