Job summary

Vena Energy Services (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking an Engineer, Grid Connection to support renewable projects across Australia. You will contribute to studies, modelling, and GPS negotiations, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders including AEMO and NSPs.

The role requires a Power Systems focus, 2–5 years' experience, and familiarity with PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerFactory. The team operates across development, commissioning, and operations in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
• 2–5 years' experience in power systems, grid connection or renewable projects.
• Familiar with Australian grid connection processes and NER requirements.
• Experience with PSS/E and PowerFactory; PSCAD is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for technical/non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support grid connection studies and assessments across the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to grid connection strategies and technical analyses.
• Perform power system modelling and simulations using PSS/E and PSCAD.
• Assist with GPS negotiations with NSPs and AEMO.
• Collaborate with EPCs, OEMs, NSPs and AEMO on grid connection issues.
• Support testing, model validation and compliance activities.
• Contribute to emerging technologies including grid-forming BESS and offshore wind.
