Job summary

Club Manning Point is seeking a dedicated Greenkeeper / Grounds Person on a casual basis at Manning Point NSW. You will maintain lawn greens, gardens and turf, operate equipment and ensure irrigation systems are healthy. Flexible hours, roughly 16–20 hours weekly with Saturday mornings.

Work independently with oversight from an experienced greenkeeper at another site. We value attention to detail, reliability and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Greenkeeper, Grounds Person or in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of lawn care and landscape maintenance.
• Proficiency with grounds maintenance equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to operate vehicles safely.
• Must be able to perform physical labour in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and mow lawn bowling greens, gardens and turf areas to high standards.
• Perform regular landscape maintenance including weeding, pruning and hedge trimming.
• Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment safely.
• Monitor and manage irrigation systems for plant health.
• Prepare and maintain bowling greens and recreational areas.
• Conduct grounds inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Remove debris and fallen vegetation from outdoor spaces.
• Apply treatments and fertilisers for plant care and pest management.
• Collaborate with team to meet maintenance schedules.
• Report safety hazards to management.

Job description

Club Manning Point is seeking a dedicated Greenkeeper / Grounds Person to join our team on a casual basis. This role is pivotal in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our grounds and outdoor facilities at our Manning Point NSW location. As Greenkeeper / Grounds Person, you will be responsible for keeping our outdoor spaces in pristine condition, ensuring they remain welcoming and well-maintained for all our members and guests. This position offers flexibility through casual work arrangements, making it ideal for those seeking variable hours.

Hours would be approximately 16 - 20 hours a week depending on the needs of the business which would include Saturday mornings. Working flexible hours/days from 6.00 am to 10.00 am.

You will be working independently with oversight from a greenkeeper working at another location.

Key responsibilities include :

• Maintain and mow lawn bowling greens, gardens and turf areas to the highest standards
• Perform regular landscape maintenance including weeding, pruning, and hedge trimming
• Operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment safely and responsibly
• Monitor and manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal plant health
• Prepare and maintain 2 x bowling greens and recreational areas
• Conduct general grounds inspections and identify areas requiring attention or repair
• Remove debris, litter and fallen vegetation from outdoor spaces
• Apply treatments and fertilisers as required for plant care and pest management
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent maintenance schedules are met
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to management

What we're looking for :

• Proven experience as a Greenkeeper, Grounds Person or in a similar grounds maintenance role
• Strong knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance and horticulture practices
• Proficiency in operating grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
• Valid driver's licence and ability to operate vehicles safely
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Relevant qualifications in horticulture, grounds maintenance or health and safety (preferred)
