Surf Coast Secondary College invites applications from graduates for teaching roles that support student learning and wellbeing in a dynamic school community. Successful applicants will plan and teach across subjects, monitor student progress, and reflect on practice while engaging with mentors and school programs.

New entrants will benefit from structured induction, mentoring, and professional learning activities aligned with curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy across the school.

Formación

• Knowledge of the curriculum including literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to respond to student learning needs.
• Ability to implement high impact teaching strategies.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning.
• Ability to use data to inform teaching and provide feedback on student progress to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to establish collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
• Reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.

Responsabilidades

• Planning and implementing a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
• Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level.
• Monitoring, evaluating and reporting student progress in key learning areas.
• Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
• Maintaining records of class attendance and recording student progress.
• Implementing effective student management in line with school policies.
• Working with a mentor to participate in professional development and reflection.
• Supervising student activities including welfare programs
• Contributing to co-curricular programs
