Department of Education Victoria is recruiting graduates for the Graduate Teacher Program in Maths and Science at Bendigo South East Secondary College. The role focuses on developing classroom practice with structured mentoring and induction, and helping students succeed through evidence‑based teaching strategies.

The program targets new entrants to teaching, offering guidance on curriculum delivery, assessment, and student engagement while supporting pathways to senior secondary options.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to adapt literacy and numeracy to students' needs.
• Demonstrated capacity to apply high‑impact teaching strategies and to adjust practice based on how students learn.
• Ability to monitor, assess and report student progress using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, parents and colleagues.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and reflection to improve practice.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver teaching programs and units across maths/science.
• Teach within a Range 1 setting under guided supervision and supporting student groups.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain records of attendance and student performance and contribute to school targets.
• Work with a mentor to develop a professional portfolio and participate in professional learning.
• Support co-curricular activities and school programs as required.
