Job summary

The Graduate Student Association (GSA) in Melbourne is seeking a seasoned Manager to lead Policy & Advocacy, directing a dedicated team and shaping university-wide initiatives.

You will collaborate with elected student representatives to turn insights into impactful policy, campaigns and submissions, balancing strategy with hands-on delivery in a not-for-profit higher education setting.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in policy, advocacy or higher education settings.
• Experience translating insights into strategic advocacy outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑level strategic advice to CEO, Board and Council.
• Mentor and manage the Policy & Advocacy team.
• Oversee policy research, submissions and lobbying documents.
• Drive student-centric campaigns and representative training.
• Engage with university departments and external networks.
