Job summary

The Department of Government Services VIC is seeking a Senior Policy Officer in Melbourne to contribute to timely legislative and regulatory reform proposals. You will provide policy advice across complex matters, draft submissions and guidance, and liaise with stakeholders to shape consumer affairs and local government policy.

The role requires strong communication, coordination across DGS, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across DGS and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy and legislative reform proposals for consumer and local government portfolios.
• Provide high quality advice to Ministers, the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Executives and Senior Officers on policy issues.
• Manage projects to deliver statutory reviews, reform proposals and public consultations.
