Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to implement high impact teaching strategies and evaluate their impact on student learning growth.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching practice, providing feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
• Teach an area of the curriculum to a year level.
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
• Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of class attendance and student progress; implement effective student management.
• Work with a mentor to participate in professional development planning and reflection.
• Supervise a range of student activities including support and welfare programs; contribute to co-curricular programs.
