Job summary

JAC Civil is seeking an experienced Grader Operator in Maryborough, Queensland. This permanent, full-time or casual role involves operating graders on civil projects, with a focus on safety and quality across road works and earthworks.

You will perform routine maintenance, pre-start checks, and collaborate with site teams on project timelines. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of grader experience in civil construction, a QLD white card, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience operating graders in civil construction.
• QLD white card or willingness to obtain (essential).
• Proven safe operation of graders across varied conditions.
• Knowledge of machine maintenance and care.
• Ability to travel locally for site work.
• Good communication, organisation and problem solving skills.
• Willingness to upskill and participate in training.
• Physically fit and willing to perform manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain graders across road works, bulk earthworks, pad maintenance and site preparation.
• Undertake tasks relating to road works for various clients across the Fraser Coast.
• Perform daily pre-start checks and report mechanical issues to the workshop.
• Work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver quality outcomes.
• Participate in manual handling or labouring when required.
• Liaise with supervisors and project teams to align operations with timelines and safety standards.

About the Role

As our Grader Operator, you will:

Operate and maintain graders to a high standard across road works, bulk earthworks, pad maintenance, site preparation, maintenance grading and related civil construction activities

Undertake a range of tasks relating to road works and site works for various clients across the Fraser Coast

Perform daily pre-start checks, maintenance of the grader, and accurate reporting of any mechanical issues to our workshop

Work both autonomously and as part of a team, supporting project processes and delivering quality outcomes

Participate in manual handling or labouring activities during machine downtime or when supporting team members if required

Liaise with supervisors and project teams to align operations with project timelines and safety standards

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Key Requirements

QLD white card or willingness to obtain (essential)

At least 3 year’s experience operating graders in civil construction or related environments

Proven track record in the safe operation of graders across a range of situations

Strong knowledge of machine maintenance and care

Ability to prioritise, plan, and complete tasks with limited supervision

Good communication, organisation, and problem solving skills

Physically fit and willing to participate in manual handling if required

Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation

Willingness to upskill and participate in training

Ability to travel locally for site work
