Job summary

The Victorian Government's Department of Health is seeking a Solicitor to join the Privacy Team. Reporting to the Specialist Privacy Lead, you will provide timely, practical legal advice on privacy and information sharing to support safe Victorian health care and compliance with Privacy laws.

You will draft briefs, cabinet papers, and ministerial notes; maintain privacy templates and registers; advise Ministers and senior officials; and contribute to privacy impact assessments and breach

Qualifications

• Current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law 2014 is required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-admission experience is preferred.
• Experience in privacy, information sharing or information governance within government would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical, well-reasoned legal advice, briefs and correspondence on privacy and information sharing matters.
• Draft Cabinet and Ministerial materials, briefing papers, meeting papers and reports.
• Maintain privacy templates, registers and other resources to remain current and fit for purpose.
