Job summary

Peoplebank seeks an experienced Principal Developer / Lead Backend API Developer to drive the design, development and evolution of a consumer API platform that powers web apps, portals and mobile apps in a highly governed environment.

You will provide hands-on technical leadership, set engineering standards, and mentor a small team while collaborating with frontend, platform engineering, integration and enterprise teams to deliver secure, scalable digital services.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering enterprise-scale backend services and API platforms.
• Strong Golang and GraphQL skills with solid API design and security patterns.
• Cloud-native delivery with Kubernetes and AWS; experience with EKS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the establishment of the new middleware/backend development team.
• Provide technical leadership and set engineering standards and practices.
• Mentor and guide a small team of developers.
• Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and production issue resolution.
• Drive high-quality software engineering outcomes.
• Support portal and mobile app teams through shared middleware services.
