Job summary

Orelogy, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking a Principal Ventilation Consultant to lead ventilation engineering across underground mining operations. Based in Perth, you will guide design, governance, audits, and risk assessments while mentoring engineers and delivering practical, value-driven solutions.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, develop Ventilation Management Plans, and contribute to bids; travel to Australian and international sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent (required).
• 10+ years underground ventilation engineering experience.
• Experience leading ventilation audits, governance, and technical assurance programs.
• Strong site-based experience in operational underground mining environments.
• FCMM/First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency highly regarded.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver practical solutions.
• Advanced ventilation software proficiency (Ventsim, VUMA) and related planning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide principal-level ventilation engineering support across diverse underground mining operations.
• Lead ventilation design, governance, and technical assurance activities for clients.
• Conduct and oversee audits, model reviews, compliance assessments, and performance reviews.
• Review, develop, and maintain Ventilation Management Plans (VMPs).
• Provide technical leadership for ventilation system design, airflow optimization, and infrastructure planning.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to tender submissions and due diligence.
• Travel nationally and internationally to client sites and projects.
