Job summary

Telstra is seeking an Information & Cyber Security Principal Technology Leader to drive security risk reduction across the organisation, focusing on learning from incidents and addressing structural security debt. The role partners with Security Operations and Cyber Defence to translate incident learnings into tangible improvements.

You will operate at executive levels, shape remediation strategies, and lead or coordinate post-incident uplift initiatives to strengthen the organisation's security

Qualifications

• Experience translating security risks, incidents or control failures into practical remediation plans.
• Ability to operate at executive levels, influence decisions, and drive accountability for security outcomes.
• Experience leading or coordinating post-incident remediation and risk-reduction initiatives.
• Proven ability to identify systemic issues and drive preventative improvements at scale.

Responsibilities

• Drive remediation of significant security risks, control weaknesses and incident findings with clear ownership and timely resolution.
• Partner with Security Operations and Cyber Defence to translate learnings into improvements that reduce recurrence.
• Identify recurring issues, systemic gaps and risk patterns to develop targeted prevention initiatives.
• Facilitate collaboration between business, engineering and security to remove barriers to remediation and accelerate risk reduction.
• Provide visibility of outstanding issues, remediation progress and risk decisions to executives and leadership.
• Champion a culture of continuous security improvement by turning reviews and audit findings into actionable plans.
