Job summary

Telstra is seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to join the Application and Cloud Security team. You will lead the design and implementation of cloud and application security capabilities across Telstra platforms, translating high-level security requirements into concrete designs and implementation patterns.

You will drive CI/CD security tooling and collaborate with engineering and product teams, providing technical leadership and mentoring while delivering DevSecOps capabilities

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud and application security across platforms.
• Proven ability to translate architecture and security principles into concrete designs.
• Hands-on with security tooling integration in CI/CD and DevSecOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud and application security capabilities across Telstra platforms.
• Translate high-level security requirements into detailed solution designs and patterns.
• Drive deployment and integration of security tooling within CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Wiz, SAST, SCA).
• Design and automate security processes for development and production environments.
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to embed security controls in cloud-native solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and capability uplift across the team.
