Job summary

AirTrunk is seeking a Principal Fire and Hydraulics Engineer to lead global fire protection and hydraulic disciplines from our North Sydney HQ. You will own standards, govern interfaces across regions, and guide design decisions for life safety, reliability and lifecycle value.

This is a senior, multi-project role reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering. You will collaborate across design, development, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations, providing technical direction

Qualifications

Typically 12+ years of progressive fire protection and hydraulic engineering experience with multi-project leadership.
Chartered or professional engineer status or relevant fire-safety accreditation preferred.
Deep expertise in fire and smoke detection, alarm systems and NFPA/FM Global standards.
Experience establishing a technical function with standards, audits and governance.
Experience in data centres or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Act as AirTrunk's senior fire and hydraulics technical authority for material risks and design decisions.
Own fire and hydraulics requirements within Global Minimum Standards - Engineering and Construction.
Set technical direction for hydraulic systems, water storage, and piping across regions.
Lead discipline peer reviews and interface management with other engineering teams.
Provide senior technical input to testing, commissioning and operational issues.
Communicate complex topics to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
