Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Facility Operations Center Engineer to join the Facility Operations Center (FOC) in Sydney. You will support data center infrastructure, coordinate with onsite technicians and global teams to ensure availability and reliability, and help align with broader business objectives.

The role requires understanding data center IT and facilities infra, with a readiness to develop on-the-job skills.

Qualifications

• University degree or TAFE technical degree/diploma.
• Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred.
• 2+ years in operations/control/center environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the global data center Amazon facilities infrastructure platform.
• Serves as a Point of Contact for internal and external teams.
• Assists with the development of communication and escalation protocols designed to improve.
• Contributes to outage post mortem analysis.
• Ensures records are updated in a timely manner.
• Assists with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts.
• Assists with the development of tools that will enhance the team’s performance.
• Ability to support a 24x7 environment (This is rotating 10 hour day shift work which requires that working weekends and holidays)
