Job summary

Central Coast Council NSW is seeking a Spatial Analyst to deliver geospatial information services, maintain spatial data and applications, and support internal partners with spatial technology. The role may include GPS field verification of asset information.

Qualifications include a geospatial or IT degree (or substantial related experience), proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Desktop, CAD and SQL Server, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Geospatial Information Services, IT, or related field, or substantial contemporary experience with ongoing development.
• Experience using Esri ArcGIS Desktop or equivalent, CAD packages, database management systems and SQL Server.
• Experience capturing and maintaining geospatial data in local government or similar industry, including GPS field capture.
• Ability to analyse, tabulate and clearly present data and findings.
• Ability to set priorities and deliver work to service levels, timeframes and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret design plans and drawings.
• Experience using asset management and electronic document management systems.
• Strong customer service, teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver innovative geospatial information services to Council's customers and support management and provision of geospatial information, systems, services and standards.
• Develop and maintain spatial data, databases and applications, undertake analysis and map production.
• Support internal business partners and provide practical advice on spatial technology.
• Undertake field inspections using GPS equipment to verify and capture Council asset information.
